Results of 540 municipalities made public, which party won how many?
Congress won 243 seats.
KATHMANDU: MAY. 19 – The results of 540 municipalities elections for local level members have been made public. Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist Center, CPN-Unified Socialist, JSP, Democratic Socialist Party, RPP and some independents have won the post from the municipality so far.
According to the most recent figures, the Congress won 243 seats, the UML 154, the UCPN (Maoist) 101, the CPN-Unified Socialist Party 12 seats, the JSP 9 seats, RPP 2, LOSAPA 1 and 16 municipality chief won the post of independent candidates.
Congress is leading in 76 seats while UML is leading in 42 seats. Similarly, the Maoist Center has secured 17 seats, the CPN-U has secured 11 seats, the JSP has secured 22 seats and the Democratic Socialist Party has secured 11 seats. Others are ahead in 15 places.
