BIRATNAGAR: MAY. 18 – The ongoing vote count in Dharan Sub-Metropolitan has been halted.
During the vote count in Ward No. 20, 18 ballot papers were found to be missing the polling officer’s signature.
According to the Returning Officer’s Office, 18 unsigned ballot papers were found, including 11 from the CPN-Maoist, four from the Nepali Congress, and three from the CPN-UML.
Assistant Election Officer Ganesh Prasad Khatiwada stated that the counting of votes was halted after party cadres protested and chanted slogans after discovering unsigned ballot papers.
He informed that the votes count in all wards had been halted.
