BIRATNAGAR: MAY. 18 – Until the last poll results of Biratnagar Metropolitan City are made public, the Nepali Congress has maintained its lead of 2922.

Nagesh Koirala of the Nepali Congress secured 12354 votes for the post of the chief, while Sagar Kumar Thapa of the CPN-UML secured 94325 votes.

Independent candidate Umesh Kumar Yadav’s Laltin polled 4015 votes.

Similarly, the CPN-UML is leading the race for deputy chief with 4243 votes.

Shilpa Niroula Karki of the CPN-UML secured 10855 votes for the post of deputy chief, while Amarendra Yadav of the JSP secured 6612 votes.

PP’s Bindakumari Luintel Acharya secured 3157 votes while Independent Lantern secured only 2265 votes.
