Sheikh Wakil of NC won mayorship of Paroha in Rautahat

KATHMANDU: MAY. 18 – The Nepal Congress candidate won in Rautahat district’s Paroha Municipality. With 6,823 votes, Sheikh Wakil of the Nepali Congress was elected.

His closest competitor, Arun Prasad Jaiswal of the CPN-Maoist, secured 4,586 votes. Sheikh Wakil was elected to a second term.

Sugandhi Giri of the Nepali Congress was elected as the municipality’s deputy mayor, defeating Bina Kumari of the CPN-Maoist.
