UML elected in Aandhikhola of Syangja
UML's Bishwanath Poudel defeated Nepali Congress' Prem Raj Poudel and was elected as the chairperson.
KATHMANDU: MAY. 17 – CPN (UML) candidate has won for the post of chairperson and vice-chairperson of Aandhikhola Rural Municipality of Syangja district.
UML’s Bishwanath Poudel defeated Nepali Congress’ Prem Raj Poudel and was elected as the chairperson. Poudel got 5,177 votes, while his rival Poudel got 4,351 votes.
Similarly, UML’s Sita Thapa has been elected as the vice-chairperson. She won with 5,273 votes while Ram Prasad Poudel of the rival CPN (Unified Socialist) got 3,817 votes.
UML candidates have won in 1, 2, 4 and 5 of the 6 wards of rural municipality. Congress chairpersons have been elected in wards 3 and 6. There were 16,250 voters in Aandhikhola and 10,825 had cast their votes.
In the local level election of 2074 BS, UML had won in all the wards including the chairperson and vice-chairperson of Andhikhola Rural Municipality.
