BIRATNAGAR: MAY. 17 – CPN-UML has emerged victorious in Bhotkhola Rural Municipality of Sankhuwasabha district.

UML has been elected to both the posts of chief and deputy chief. CPN-UML’s Wang Chhedar Lama was elected with 1803 votes. His nearest rival Chungdak Bhote of the CPN (Unified Socialist) polled 1,416 votes.

Sahana Lama, 31, of UML got 1791 votes and was elected as the Vice-Chairperson. His nearest rival Dukpa Thikepa Bhote of the Nepali Congress polled 1536 votes.

Nepali Congress won Ward No. 1 in this municipality, which has five wards, while UML won four other wards.
