Candidate dies in motorcycle accident
He was killed when he collided with an Eicher truck on his way from Pokhara to Dhading Besi.
KATHMANDU: MAY. 16 – A candidate has died in a motorcycle accident at Sasaha in Dhading district on Monday.
Arjun Pokhrel, 29, of Neelkanth Municipality-7, has been identified as the deceased.
Pokhrel was a ward member candidate for Neelkanth Municipality-7, carrying the CPN (Maoist Center) election symbol on behalf of the alliance.
The candidate passed away before the Nilakantha Election Office could begin counting votes.
He was killed when he collided with an Eicher truck on his way from Pokhara to Dhading Besi.
The collision occurred when an Eicher (Ba 5 Kha 7072) travelling from Dhading Besi to Kathmandu collided with a motorcycle (Bagmati State 33 Kha 3374). He passed away at Dhading Hospital.
The accident seriously injured Santosh Adhikari of Nilkantha Municipality-4.
According to Jageshwor Bhandari, Deputy Superintendent of Police, he was taken to Kathmandu Trauma Center in Dhading for treatment.
