Rumdali & Rai win in Manebhanjyang chief/deputy chief
Rumdali defeated the CPN-UML candidate by 1,206 votes.
OKHALDHUNGA: MAY. 16 – Gyanendra Rumdali and Aashrachan Rai have been elected as the chairperson and vice-chairperson of Manebhanjyang Rural Municipality of Okhaldhunga respectively. Rumdali, who became an independent candidate for the post of chairperson, and Rai, a candidate of Nepali Congress for the post of vice-chairperson, defeated the candidate of the UML-JSP alliance.
Rumdali defeated the CPN-UML candidate by 1,206 votes. Rumdali won by getting 5,021 votes while her nearest rival Ruplal Tamang of UML got 3,815 votes. Rai defeated his nearest rival Dipendra Rumdali of JSP by a margin of 2,173 votes and secured 4,750 votes. Rumdali got 2,577 votes for the post of vice-chairperson.
Congress has won in seven of the nine wards and UML in two wards. Raj Kumar Rumdali from Ward No. 1, Ram Mani Rai from Ward No. 2, Bishnu Tamang from Ward No. 4, Ram Kumar Rai from Ward No. 5, Hemraj Rai from Ward No. 6, Bishnu Prasad Gautam from Ward No. 7 and Bhim Balampaki Magar from Ward No. 8 have won.
Purna Bahadur Magar of the CPN-UML won Ward 9 and Jitendra Rai of Ward 3. In the 2074 election, Congress had won in seven wards, UCPN (M) in one ward and UML in one ward.
