Maoists re-elected in Barpak, Gorkha

POKHARA: MAY. 16 – The Maoist candidate has been re-elected as chairperson and vice-chairperson of Gorkha district’s Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality.

Bishnu Bhatta and Sanmaya Gurung were elected chairperson and vice-chairperson, respectively.

Bhatta got 5 thousand 719 votes. His opponent, Nepali Congress candidate Jeet Bahadur Ghale, got 4,864 votes.

Sanmaya Gurung has been elected as the vice-chairperson from the CPN-Maoist. She got 5 thousand 765 votes. His rival Maya Rana of the Nepali Congress polled 4,575 votes.
