Coalition wins in Phaktanglung Rural Municipality of Taplejung
Rajan Limbu of the UCPN (Maoist) was elected with 2660 votes.
BIRATNAGAR: MAY. 16 – The Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) has won in Taplejung’s Phaktanglung Rural Municipality.
Rajan Limbu of the UCPN (Maoist) was elected with 2660 votes. Saroj Limbu, the CPN-UML’s nearest rival, got 2312 votes. The Vice-Chairperson was elected as Rabin Samra Limbu of the Nepali Congress. He got 2358 votes. Shantimaya Limbu Poudel of the CPN-UML got 2212 votes.
In wards 1 and 2 of this municipality, the Maoists have won the ward chairperson. Yagya Prasad Limbu has been elected as the chairperson of ward no. 1 and Bhupendra Chaulagai has been elected as the chairperson of ward no. 2.
Similarly, Nepali Congress has won in Ward Nos. 3 and 6. Aita Ram Limbu was elected as the chairperson of ward no. 3 and Pema Tashi Sherpa was elected as the chairperson of ward no. 6. UML has won wards 4 and 5. Mahesh Lawung has been elected as the chairperson of Ward No. 4 and Deu Prasad Limbu has been elected as the chairperson of Ward No. 5.
Similarly, Cheten Lama Sherpa was elected unopposed in Ward No. 7, according to the Office of the Returning Officer.
