KATHMANDU: MAY. 15 – The Congress panel won the ward voted on by CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli. The Nepali Congress defeated the UML candidate in Bhaktapur’s Suryabinayak Municipality-2, Balkot.

Pradip Karki of the Congress won with 1,511 votes. His nearest rival, UML’s Bishwaraj Bista, got 1,305 votes. Jarnadan Khadka of the Congress got 1,476 votes in the open category, while Bhagat Rana got 1,424 votes.

Kalpana Khatiwada ‘Dahal’ of the Congress got 1,521 votes in the women’s category, while Ranjita Tikhatri of the Nepali Congress got 1,517 votes in the Dalit women’s category.
