POKHARA: MAY. 16 – Min Bahadur Gurung of Nepali Congress has been elected as the chairperson of Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality of Kaski. Min Bahadur was elected by defeating Bikram Gurung of CPN-UML by 482 votes.

He got 5,981 votes while his nearest rival Bikram got 5,515 votes.

Similarly, Sita Adhikari of Nepali Congress has been elected as the vice-chairperson. She defeated Sita Tiwari of UML by 425 votes. Adhikari got 5,275 votes while Tiwari got 4,897 votes.

Congress has won the majority of the wards here. The Nepali Congress has won 7 of the 9 wards in Machhapuchhre, while the UCPN (M) has won one and the UML has won one. Earlier, UML had won the chair, vice-chair and 8 wards.
