UCPN (M) wins in Ajirkot, Gorkha

POKHARA: MAY. 15 – The Maoist center of Ajirkot Rural Municipality of Gorkha has won the chairmanship and vice-chairmanship.

Deepak Devkota of the Maoists defeated Gobind Gurung of the Nepali Congress. Indra Gurung of the Nepali Congress was also defeated by Anita Bhujel of the UCPN (Maoist).

Previously, the Nepali Congress had been elected in that municipality. Maoist candidates won Ajirkot 1, 2, and 3, while the Congress won the 4th and 5th constituencies.

In 2074 BS, both Devkota and Bhujel were defeated by the Nepali Congress.
