These are the chairpersons of 19 wards elected in Morang, Sunsari

BIRATNAGAR: MAY. 15 – So far, 19 people have been elected in Morang and Sunsari district wards. UML has won 8-8 of the wards where the final results have been made public. The UCPN-M, Maoists, and RPP each won one ward.

The UML won three wards in Sunsari, while the Congress, RPP, and Samajwadi Party each won one. UML has won in Sunsari’s Dharan Sub-Metropolitian Ward No. 2, Duhabi Municipality Ward No. 1, and Barju Rural Municipality Ward No. 1.

The RPP was victorious in Itahari Sub-Metropolitan Ward No. 20, Bhokraha Narasimha Rural Municipality Ward No. 1, and Harinagar Rural Municipality Ward No. 7.

In Morang, 13 wards have been given leadership so far. According to the Office of the Returning Officer, the highest number of ward chairpersons was elected from the Nepali Congress, five from the CPN-UML and one from the UCPN (Maoist).

Ratna Bahadur Karki in Kanepokhari Rural Municipality 1, Bhagwan Marandi in Jahada Rural Municipality 7, Parbat Rai in Miklajung Rural Municipality 1 and Bal Bahadur Shrestha in Miklajung Rural Municipality 2 have been elected as ward chairperson by the Nepali Congress.

Nanda Prasad Khatiwada was elected in Letang Municipality Ward No. 9, Bir Bahadur Rai in Sunawarshi Municipality 1 and Binod Kumar Rajbanshi in Ward 2.

UML elected Harinarayan Rajbanshi in Katahari Municipality-1, Mohan Prasad Adhikari in Kanepokhari Municipality-7, Sharan Thapa Magar in Kerabari Municipality-1, Birendra Chaudhary in Gramthan Municipality-7 and Bishnu Magar in Letang Municipality-1.

Khaja Hussain Mian was elected from the Maoist center in Ward No. 1 of Dhanpalathan Municipality in Morang.
