KATHMANDU: MAY. 15 – Votes are being counted in local elections across the country. The results of 20 local levels have so far been made public.

The CPN-UML has 8 victories, the Nepali Congress has 7, the CPN-U has 2, and the CPN-Maoist has 3.

Municipalities won by the alliance with the NC

–Konjo Tenzing Lama has won from Narpa Bhumi Rural Municipality. Dhan Bahadur Gurung from Nason Rural Municipality, Mohan Singh Lalchan from Gharpajhong Rural Municipality, Indra Bahadur Karki from Ganyapadhura Rural Municipality and Khil Dhwaj Panthi from Resunga Municipality have emerged victorious.

–Nepali Congress Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson has been elected as the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of Gulmi Durbar Rural Municipality. According to the tally on Sunday morning, Saroj Thapa won the election by 564 votes and Tara Thapa Dhenga won the election by 777 votes.

–Bhairav ​​Bahadur Saund and Kumari Bista of Nepali Congress have been elected as the chairperson and vice-chairperson of Badikedar Rural Municipality of Doti district. This is the first time that the Nepali Congress has won a seat in Doti.

–Nara Singh Rokaya of the UCPN (Maoist) has won from Jagadulla Rural Municipality. Chhabiram Subedi has been elected as the chairperson of Naumule Rural Municipality of Dailekh from the Maoist center. There was an alliance of Maoists and socialists.

–Tasi Nharbu Gurung has won in Lomanthang Rural Municipality and Ringjin Namgel Gurung has won in Varagung Muktichhetra Rural Municipality.

–CPN-UML candidate has won for the post of chairperson and vice-chairperson of Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality of Solukhumbu district. UML’s Mingma Chhiri Sherpa and UML’s Tashi Lhamu Sherpa have been elected as the chairperson and vice-chairperson respectively.

–UML candidate Manvir Bohara has won the Saipal Rural Municipality chairmanship with 675 votes. Ujwal Bohara, the candidate of the nearest rival coalition, got 613 votes.
