Maoists defeated rebels at Tara Khola in Baglung

POKHARA: MAY. 15 – UCPN-M candidate has won for the post of Tara Khola Rural Municipality chairperson of Baglung district. Dhan Bahadur BK of the UCPN (Maoist) has been elected as the party’s chairperson.

Bhim Bahadur Roka of the Nepali Congress has won the election for the post of vice-chairperson. While BK won the election with 2285 votes, he defeated his nearest rival Maoist rebel candidate Prakash Gharti by 195 votes.

Gharti is a former chairperson of the municipality. He became an independent candidate after the party did not give him a ticket.

Roka of the Nepali Congress was elected vice-chairperson with 3,403 votes while her nearest rival Thammaya Gharti of the CPN-UML was defeated.
