KATHMANDU: MAY. 15 – Votes are being counted in local elections across the country. The results of 17 local levels have so far been made public.

The CPN-UML has six victories, the Nepali Congress has five, the CPN-U has two, and the CPN-Maoist has two.

Municipalities won by the alliance with the NC

-Konjo Tenzing Lama has won from Narpa Bhumi Rural Municipality. Dhan Bahadur Gurung from Nason Rural Municipality, Mohan Singh Lalchan from Gharpajhong Rural Municipality, Indra Bahadur Karki from Ganyapadhura Rural Municipality and Khil Dhwaj Panthi from Resunga Municipality have emerged victorious.

– Nepali Congress Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson has been elected as the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of Gulmi Durbar Rural Municipality. According to the tally on Sunday morning, Saroj Thapa won the election by 564 votes and Tara Thapa Dhenga won the election by 777 votes.

– Unified Socialists Kaike and Charka Tangsong’s Angad Kumar Rana and Senang Gurung won.

Nara Singh Rokaya of the UCPN (Maoist) has won from Jagadulla Rural Municipality. Chhabiram Subedi has been elected as the chairperson of Naumule Rural Municipality of Dailekh from the Maoist center. There was an alliance of Maoists and socialists.

– Lokendra Bahadur Ghale in Chame Municipality and Dhawa Dhawa Gurung in Shey Phoksundo Municipality have emerged victorious.

– Kancha Ghale in Disyang Municipality and Lopsang Chompel Bista in Lo-Ghekar Damodarkund Municipality have emerged victorious.

– Tasi Nharbu Gurung has won in Lomanthang Rural Municipality and Ringjin Namgel Gurung has won in Varagung Muktichhetra Rural Municipality.
