BIRATNAGAR: MAY. 14 – Since this morning, the results of the vote-counting in six wards of Biratnagar Metropolitan City have been made public.

Until 5 p.m., candidates from the coalition party Nepali Congress held the lead in the race for metropolitan chief.

According to the information released by the Chief Election Office, Adarsha Secondary School, while counting 1,082 votes, Congress candidate Nagesh Koirala got 419 votes, Sagar Thapa of CPN (UML) got 296 votes, Pralhad Prasad Sah of RPP got 75 votes and Umesh Yadav of Independent (Lantin) got 111 votes.

Similarly, Shilpa Nirala Karki of CPN (UML) got 345 votes, Amarendra Yadav of JSP of Nepal got 198 votes, Binda Kumari Luitel Acharya of RPP got 92 votes and independent candidate Namita Neupane Pokhrel (Laltin) got 61 votes.

The office has stated that the public announcement of the next vote counting will take place at 7 p.m.
