NC rebel candidate won in Butwal

KATHMANDU: MAY. 14 – Narendra Basnet, who became a rebel after not getting a ticket, has won the post of ward chairperson of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan-1.

Basnet was elected with 636 votes. Mahendra Ligal of the CPN-UML got 551 votes.

The winner has yet to be announced by the election office.
