BIRATNAGAR: MAY. 14 – Independents have taken the lead in the Kankai Municipality of Jhapa.

Sher Bahadur Thapa, an independent candidate, got 686 votes.

He took the lead with the most votes from the independent side after 1549 votes were counted.

UML’s Rajendra Kumar Pokhrel got 436 votes, while Nepali Congress’ Rudra Prasad Chimariya got170 votes.

Manju Prasai of the UML got 598 votes, Aasha Sharma of the Nepali Congress got 436 votes, and Sachitra Khanal of the RPP got 110 votes.
