KATHMANDU: MAY. 13 – Two pilots were killed Thursday night in a helicopter crash in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh, officials said.

The local government’s helicopter crashed at an airport in Raipur, Chhattisgarh’s capital city.

“Both our pilots, Captain Panda and Captain Srivastava, sadly perished in this tragic accident,” Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said in a brief statement posted on social media.

According to officials, there were no passengers on board the helicopter, and both pilots were critically injured. The pilots were rushed to a hospital, but doctors there declared them dead, according to a local government official.
