More than 260,000 security personnel guarding the election
KATHMANDU: MAY. 12 – For the upcoming election, 260,000 security personnel are providing security for the election. There are one lakh temporary policemen in it.
There are over 65,000 Nepal Police personnel and 71,000 Nepal Army participants. Similarly, over 32,000 Armed Police Force personnel have been deployed.
The polling station has been provided security in three areas. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the first siege was carried out by Nepal Police, the second by Armed Police, and the third by the Nepal Army.
According to Nepal Army Spokesperson Narayan Silwal, the army has devised a security strategy that will allow them to reach any polling station within 30 minutes at most.
The Nepal Police spokesperson, Senior Superintendent of Police Bishnu Kumar KC, stated that while the criminal group was not active this time, the police were aware of potential incidents between the party and its representatives.
He stated that the election atmosphere was peaceful. According to him, sporadic incidents have occurred in various districts. According to police, up to 18 people were stationed at the polling station.
The Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, National Investigation Department, and Nepal Army have developed and implemented an election-focused integrated security plan. The four bodies have also developed their own distinct security strategies.
