Khukuri attack on UML candidate’s in Kailali, four injured
He claimed that Nepali Congress youths attacked him with khukuri.
KAILALI: MAY. 12 – A group broke into the home of a Godawari Municipality ward chairperson candidate in Kailali and attacked him with a khukuri.
On Wednesday night, a group attacked him with a khukuri at his house, injuring four members of his family, including his brother.
He claimed that Nepali Congress youths attacked him with khukuri. Bintiram Chaudhary, the ward chairperson candidate’s brother, was seriously injured when a group of 15 to 20 people attacked him with a khukuri in the courtyard after a meal at 11:30 p.m.
He is being treated in an Attariya hospital. Basanti Chaudhary, his wife, was also injured. Similarly, Laxmi Chaudhary, the ward chairperson candidate’s daughter, and Rabin Chaudhary, the ward chairperson candidate’s nephew, were injured in the attack. Their health is normal.
Bintiram, who was critically injured, was hit with a stick first and then by a khukuri while grabbing a stick after falling to the ground. He suffered severe injuries to his left hand. Ward chairperson candidate Jagguram claimed that he saved his life by hiding inside the house in the dark.
He claimed that the police arrived one hour after he informed them. CPN-UML central secretary Lekhraj Bhatta and politburo member Narad Muni Rana among those who visited the injured at their homes and hospitals. He went on to say that Secretary Bhatta carried out the attack on purpose. He claims that police arrived an hour after the attack and sided with the group that attacked the khukuri.
The clash injured 4.5 people, according to Rabindra Raj Pandey, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Area Police Office, Malakheti. He stated that the assailant was being sought.
Meanwhile, Nepali Congress ward chairperson candidate Jayaraj Fulara reported being injured in the clash. NC Ward Chairperson candidate Jayaraj Fulara said that he had informed the police after receiving information that there was a party going on and later a fight ensued after NC cadres reached the party venue.
