KATHMANDU: MAY. 12 – Election materials have reached the Narpa Bhumi Rural Municipality, which borders Tibet.

After a two-day walk, staff and security personnel, along with election materials, reached at the polling station in Narpa Bhumi Rural Municipality, which is not connected to the road network.

Sharma, Chief of the District Election Office, stated that staff and security personnel had reached at the polling station carrying election materials in Narpa Bhumi, a remote area.

Employees who left the district headquarters Chame on Monday morning, he claims, arrived at the polling station only on Tuesday evening. They are busy preparing for the elections by posting information in polling booths and engaging in other activities.

According to Pushparaj Sharma, Election Officer at the District Election Office in Manang, election materials have been reached to all four local level polling stations.

According to Manang Chief District Officer Rabindra Acharya, election materials have been delivered to five polling stations in Manang district’s Narpa Bhumi. For the local elections in Manang, more than 200 personnel and 700 security personnel have been deployed. Manang has 28 polling stations for the election.

In the district, nine polling stations have been set up in the municipalities of Nason and Manang Ngisyang, and five in the municipalities of Chame and Narpa Bhumi.

The district has 6,496 registered voters. There are 3,348 women and 3,148 men among them.
