Ward Chairperson candidate arrested While distributing money

SURKHET: MAY. 12 – District Police Office, Surkhet has arrested a ward chairperson candidate for the post while distributing money.

On Wednesday night, police nabbed the candidate for the post of ward chairperson of the CPN-No. UML’s 1 ward while distributing money to voters.

Rajan BC, a ward chairperson candidate in Surkhet’s Gurbhakot Municipality-11, is among the arrested. After receiving information that BC was distributing money to voters, police raided a settlement in the same ward late at night.

According to Ram Prasad Gharti, DSP and spokesperson for the Surkhet District Police Office, cash in the amount of Rs. 1,0,1000. The incident is being investigated further, according to police.
