Mobile phones are not permitted in polling stations, what else is prohibited?
In case of violation of the rules, action will be taken as per the law.
KATHMANDU: MAY. 12 – The Election Commission (EC) has urged voters to consider a variety of issues when voting on May 13.
The local level election guideline, 2078, has made various arrangements to ensure that the local level election is held in a safe, free, and fearless environment.
According to the Election Commission, only voter candidates and those who have obtained permission from the Commission are permitted to go to the polling station.
On the day of voting, the voter, the candidate or one of his/her election representatives or polling representatives, the observer licensed by the commission, the commission or the election officer, or the person authorized by the polling officer, accompanying the female voter for a maximum of five years of minor and blind or physically disabled voter, the commission has stated that only family members of one family will be allowed to enter.
However, a statement issued by the commission said that the polling officer should not be allowed to enter the polling station even if the person who is under the influence of alcohol is a voter.
The commission has stated that the voters and others are not permitted to enter polling booths with mobile phones, cameras and photographic equipment, acid items such as matches, lighters, any type of hand weapon, sample ballot papers, or any election symbol of any political party or candidate.
In case of violation of the rules, action will be taken as per the law.
