Dharmendra Bastola arrested
Bastola recently split the Communist Party of Nepal, led by Netra Bikram Chand Biplav.
KATHMANDU: MAY. 12 – Dharmendra Bastola, the CPN’s majority coordinator, has been arrested. The team, which included Bastola from Bhalubang in Dang, was nabbed by police who were on their way to Nepalgunj from Pokhara.
According to the Area Police Office in Bhalubang, the team, which included Bastola, was nabbed and detained in Bhalubang. Bastola recently split the Communist Party of Nepal, led by Netra Bikram Chand Biplav, to form the CPN (Maoist) majority. Bastola is the coordinator of the party.
The Bastola leadership has boycotted the election, while the Biplav leadership has voted unannounced. Last night, a bomb exploded in Butwal, Rupandehi.
A CPN-Maoist revolutionary leaflet was discovered there. Bastola is said to have been arrested on the same suspicion.
