“Fake Twitter accounts created with my name and photo”
Issuing a statement on Wednesday Ghising stated that he had drawn attention to the fact that the information was transmitted via a fake Twitter handle using his name and picture.
KATHMANDU: MAY. 11 – Kulman Ghising claimed to have brought attention to the fake Twitter account and disseminated various information.
Issuing a statement on Wednesday Ghising stated that he had drawn attention to the fact that the information was transmitted via a fake Twitter handle using his name and picture.
“Fake Twitter handles opened using my name and photo have been used to spread false information about local elections,” Ghising said in a statement.
He also stated that his official Twitter handle is @KMGhising and that he does not use any other Twitter accounts. He also warned people not to be misled by information coming from other fake accounts.
“I heartily request that everyone refrains from engaging in such activities in a way that would call into question a responsible official who is fully abiding by the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission for local elections,” he added.
