Maoist Rural Municipality Committee Chairperson arrested for attacking police post
Ganesh Khadka, 50, the Rural Municipality committee chairperson of Triveni Rural Municipality-9 Nuwakot, was arrested on May 4 for attacking a police post.
SURKHET: MAY. 11 – The chairperson of the Rural Municipality committee who attacked the police station in Rukum West has been arrested by police.
Ganesh Khadka, 50, the Rural Municipality committee chairperson of Triveni Rural Municipality-9 Nuwakot, was arrested on May 4 for attacking a police post. Khadka is a permanent Triveni Rural Municipality-8 resident.
According to Karnali State Police Office Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Hira Bahadur Pandey, after a nighttime clash between YCL and Tarun Dal cadres at Nuwakot Danda, a team led by Khadka attacked the police post.
According to Pandey, YCL cadres also vandalized the vehicle (Ra 1 Ja 1262) carrying Congress candidate for Triveni Rural Municipality chairperson Amar Singh Khadka.
According to him, the incident is being investigated by the Chairman of the Maoist Rural Municipality Committee, Khadka.
An additional police team from the District Police Office in Musikot, Rukum West, had reached in Nuwakot and arrested Khadka.
