Fresh tremor jolts hilly districts in Sudurpaschim

KATHMANDU: MAY. 11 – A tremor was felt today in the hilly districts of Sudurpaschim including Baitadi.

A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck Surkhet at 10:18 this morning, according to Tirtha Raj Dahal, a technical assistant at the Seismological Center.

The epicenter was reported 30 kilometers west of Darchula in India.

The earthquake struck the districts of Baitadi, Darchula, Bajhang, and Dadeldhura in the Sudurpaschim. So far, no damage has been reported as a result of the earthquake, according to police.

Previously, on April 19, a magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck Sainpasela in the Far West.
