KATHMANDU: MAY. 10 – Materials for the May 13 local level election, including ballot papers, have reached at 29 polling stations in Tanahun.

Materials, including ballot papers, have been delivered to 29 polling stations in the Devghat, Ghiring, and Bhimad Municipalities. Krishna Gautam, Assistant Returning Officer of the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Tanahun, reported that staff had arrived at the polling station, which was geographically distant, with ballot papers and materials. The District Election Office received ballot papers and 61 other types of materials from the Chief Election Officer’s office.

Chief of the District Election Office, Hari Prasad Dhakal, informed that materials would be provided in the remaining polling stations out of 297 polling stations in ten municipalities tomorrow. Office Chief Dhakal informed that the materials have been distributed to the employees who came from the office of the Chief Election Officer after receiving the appointment letter. He said that the required materials will be provided after entering the appointment letter in the online software.

After receiving the election materials, an arrangement has been made to transport the staff to the appropriate polling station under the supervision of security forces. All staff assigned to the polling station must arrive by the evening of May 10. Following arrival at the polling station, there will be meetings with the political parties involved, distribution of voter identification cards, construction of polling stations, and other activities.

Chief Election Officer and District Judge Harish Chandra Dhungana announced that 891 out of 1,485 employees will be appointed and paid by the Chief Election Officer’s office.

The office has distributed 61 different kinds of materials. The Election Office has provided ballot boxes, identity cards, stamps, and other materials.
