Law Day observed under the slogan ‘Quick Justice, Justice For All’
The importance of the judiciary playing a more responsible role in upholding constitutional supremacy and the rule of law in Nepal.
KATHMANDU: MAY. 9 – Law Day is observed on Monday with the slogan ‘Quick Justice, Justice For All.’
On the occasion of the day, the Supreme Court had organized a tea party at the Supreme Court premises. President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Acting Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Karki, former Chief Justices, and former judges attended the event.
Similarly, the former Chief Justice and former judges were honoured by the Supreme Court at the event. Nepal has been celebrating the 26th of Baisakh as Law Day since 2008 BS when Nepal issued the Judicial Act.
The importance of the judiciary playing a more responsible role in upholding constitutional supremacy and the rule of law in Nepal, as well as protecting citizens’ rights and freedoms, has been emphasized.
