UML’s deadly attack on RPP candidate, the party demanded action
UML cadres have attacked RPP ward member candidate.
KATHMANDU: MAY. 9 – The Rastriya Prajatantra Party has strongly condemned the attack of its candidates and cadres. The attack on RPP has been condemned by Dhanusha and Rukum West.
UML cadres have attacked RPP ward member candidate Samsul Rain Mia in Dhanusha-4, according to RPP spokesperson and propaganda department chief Mohan Shrestha.
UML cadres had pressured Belamiya, who was campaigning door-to-door, to withdraw his candidacy. Shrestha, on the other hand, stated in a statement that he and seven members of his family were attacked as Mia refused to back down. RPP has demanded that those involved in the incident be arrested and that arrangements be made for the treatment of the injured.
Similarly, during the election campaign of RPP ward chairperson candidate Lili Bir BC in Musikot Municipality-1 of Rukum West, Maoists blocked the road. There was a flag-tearing incident and a brawl between the candidates.
The RPP has stated that the attack on the RPP candidate who is campaigning on the doorsteps is a mockery of democratic rights. RPP has urged the government and the Election Commission to foster fearless elections.
