KATHMANDU: MAY. 8 – CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that the May 13 local election should be organised in a fair and impartial way. Threatening voters is against the law, he said at a press conference organised here today by UML party office.
“It has been found that voters were threatened that the country would meet with an accident if they did not vote for one.
Voters should not be threatened.
The poll should be organised in a fair and impartial way,” said the former Prime Minister, stating that the Election Commission should be impartial.
The UML is committed to developing the local level as a promoter of people faith towards nationality, social harmony and the government and making it a departure point for the identification, conservation and development and utilising local resources, he stated.
He also urged people to vote for Sun to create a base for the UML leadership in all local levels to realise the goals of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis’ while ensuring the federal and state elections.
“The UML no longer accepts the acts of weakening national unity and demeaning national integrity and patriotism under any pretexts. It is the party that has capacity to keep national unity stronger while maintaining social harmony, justice and equitable behaviours in the Nepali society rich in diversities.”
