Family of security personnel deployed for local election to get Rs 2 million in case of death

KATHMANDU: MAY. 8 – Families of security personnel, including Myadi (temporary) police deployed for the May 13 local election, will receive Rs 2 million each if they are killed on the duty

According to the Home Minister’s Secretariat, a Cabinet meeting this morning took this decision on the proposal of Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand.
Similarly, the government will cover the costs of treatment for security personnel injured on the duty during the election, according to Madhusudan Bhattarai, the press coordinator for Home Minister Khand.
He also stated that it was decided to provide rations to Myadi police deployed in mountainous districts for the election on a par with police personnel.
