Ward chairperson candidate found dead

KATHMANDU: MAY.  7 – Sunsari’s Ramdhuni Municipality-8 ward chairperson candidate has been found dead. Ganesh Poudel, who had registered to run for ward chairperson in Ramdhuni Municipality-8, was found dead behind his house.

Last Thursday, he left his motorcycle on the road near Inaruwa-4, Bus Chowk, and lost contact. He was contacted by his family and the Sunsari District Police Office 24 hours after the rumors of his kidnapping spread.

The incident is being investigated, according to Sunsari Police Chief Sanjay Singh Thapa. Poudel, a Nepali Congress cadre, had previously registered his candidacy for the position of ward chairperson independently.
