Eight expelled from UML for aiding rebels

KATHMANDU: MAZY. 5 – CPN (UML) Mechinagar has charged eight people with supporting a rebellious candidate opposing the party’s candidacy.
Eight cadres, including Dilli Ram Ghimire, who ran a rebel campaign against Meena Pokhrel Upreti, the CPN-official UML’s candidate for Deputy Chief, have taken action and expelled from the party in Mechinagar, according to Raju Pokharel, the party’s municipal chairperson. Ghimire was the coordinator of the UML’s regional committee and had nominated a rebel candidate for the post of deputy chief.
Deepak Ghimire and Khil Bahadur Giri are the supporters and proposers of the rebel deputy chief candidate Ghimire. UML has also taken action against Tilak Neupane and his supporter Meghnath Bastola for contesting against Deepak Baral, the official candidate of Ward No. 2.

UML’s rebel candidate Netra Prasad Dahal has been expelled from Ward No. 7 without even being an ordinary member of the party, said Pokharel.
