POKHARA: MAY. 5 – The JSP-Congress alliance in Gorkha has finally crumbled. Previously, the Congress had decided to form a coalition in Dr. Baburam Bhattarai’s hometown, as the Congress Central Committee had failed to comply with the decision.
The Center had directed that the Congress be supported for the post of mayor of Palungtar. However, in Gorkha, the JSP has agreed to support Congress. However, the Palungtar alliance was broken after the JSP formed an alliance with Palungtar and the Maoists in Gorkha.
“Why such an alliance is needed in Palungtar when the decision is favorable and the Congress is not supported in Gorkha?” Said district president Nanda Neupane. Now we are fighting alone. ‘
JSP and the Maoist center have formed an alliance in Gorkha Municipality. The Maoists have formed an alliance to get the mayor and JSP the deputy mayor. Under pressure from the Central Committee, the JSP and Congress Gorkha, who had decided to contest the by-elections on April 24, were asked to coordinate in Palungtar Gorkha. However, each candidate’s candidacy was registered separately.
