Coalition election meeting in Bharatpur today
Senior Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel, General Secretary Gagan Thapa, leader Dr Shekhar Koirala, and others will also speak at the Hakim Chowk election meeting.
KATHMANDU: MAY. 5 – Today, the five-party alliance is holding an election meeting in Chitwan’s Bharatpur. The coalition has organized an election meeting or assembly to discuss the election of the Metropolitan City of Bharatpur.
The meeting will be addressed by the Prime Minister and President of the Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, the Chairperson of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ the Chairperson of the CPN-Unified Socialist Madhav Kumar Nepal, and others.
Senior Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel, General Secretary Gagan Thapa, leader Dr Shekhar Koirala, and others will also speak at the Hakim Chowk election meeting. According to the election campaign committee of the five-party alliance, the meeting will also include the central leaders of the JSP and Rastriya Janamorcha.
Renu Dahal of the UCPN (Maoist) has been nominated as mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, while Chitrasen Adhikari of the Nepali Congress has been nominated as deputy mayor.
Against the alliance, Congress leader and former MP Jagannath Poudel has given a rebel candidacy for mayor.
