KATHMANDU: MAY. 4 – Nepal has easily won the third and final T20 match against the visiting team Zimbabwe ‘A’.

Nepal defeated Zimbabwe by 8 wickets on Wednesday at the TU Cricket Ground. With the victory, Nepal has avenged the defeat in the first game.

Nepal was defeated by Zimbabwe by six wickets in the first match. The second Twenty20 match was cancelled due to rain. Nepal completed the 137-run target set by Zimbabwe by losing two wickets in 15 overs. Aasif Sheikh remained unbeaten in Nepal’s victory, scoring 87 runs in his half-century innings.

Likewise, Kushal Bhurtel scored 34 runs and Basir Ahmed scored ten. Zimbabwe’s Luke Jongwe and Brandon Mavuta each took one wicket.

Zimbabwe’s leading run-scorer was Roy Kaia, who scored 49 runs. Tadiwanashe Marumani contributed 27 runs, and Luke Jogwe scored an unbeaten 23. Innocent Kia contributed 14 runs. Nepal captain Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets, while Sompal Kami and Basir Ahmed each took one.

Nepal is currently playing a series against Zimbabwe ‘A’ in preparation for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League Two triangular one-day series in the United States. Nepal will now play a three-match One-Day International series against the visiting team.
