PALPA: MAY. 2 – CPN-UML and Nepali Congress cadres have clashed in Palpa.

Both parties have since issued statements defending themselves.

UML District Chairperson Bishnu Prasad Regmi issued a statement claiming that a group of 120 people carrying Congress flags attacked election campaigners on Kaligandki’s corridor road around 3.30 p.m.

Meanwhile, Netra Prasad Bhattarai, president of the Rampur Municipality of the Nepali Congress, has also issued a statement claiming that a group led by Sandeep Nath, son of the UML ward 10 candidates for the post of ward chairperson candidate, attacked the Nepali Congress cadres.

In a statement, they demanded restitution for both human and material losses.
