Which candidate can spend how much? (with details)
KATHMANDU: MAY. 2 – The Election Commission has set spending limits for candidates running in local elections. Depending on the position of the candidate, the commission has set a maximum spending limit of Rs. 750,000.
The mayor and deputy mayor of the metropolitian will be prohibited from spending more than Rs 750,000, and the ward chairperson and members will be prohibited from spending more than Rs 300,000. According to the commission’s information, ward chairpersons, ward members, women, dalits, and minority members should spend no more than Rs 300,000.
Similarly, the mayor and deputy mayor of the sub-metropolitian have set a spending limit of Rs 550,000 for the mayor and deputy mayor, and up to Rs 300,000 for ward chairpersons and ward members. Ward chairpersons, members of the ward, women, and Dalit minority members will be able to spend up to Rs. 250,000.

There are only 11 days until the municipal elections. Following the adoption of the new constitution by the Constituent Assembly, the commission is holding local level elections for the second time for May 13.
