Ballot papers delivered to 61 districts, metropolitan printing continues

KATHMANDU: MAY. 2 – According to the Election Commission, the work of transporting ballot papers in the district for the local level election 2079 BS is in full swing.

According to the commission, ballot papers have been delivered to 61 districts as of Sunday.

Shaligram Sharma Poudel, a spokesperson for the Commission, stated that ballot papers would be delivered to the remaining 16 districts within a few days.

According to him, ballot papers have yet to be delivered to the Madhesh and Bagmati districts. Ballot papers have been delivered by helicopter to areas with no road access.

So far, 12.3 million ballot papers for 61 districts have been distributed, according to Poudel. The commission is preparing to reprint ballot papers in areas where there are more candidates than expected.

Ballot papers for the Kathmandu Metropolitan are being printed. Lalitpur, Biratnagar, Birgunj, Bharatpur, and Pokhara ballot papers will also be printed starting today.
