Ten candidates were elected unopposed in Taplejung
Five independent candidates, including the ward chairperson, were elected in Olangchungola.
TAPLEJUNG: MAY. 2 – Ten candidates have been elected unopposed in Taplejung’s upcoming local level election. No candidature has been registered against them and even the candidatures registered for some posts have been withdrawn and elected unopposed.
Five people, including the ward chairperson of Phaktanglung Rural Municipality-7 Olangchungola, were elected unopposed. According to the Taplejung District Election Office, there have been ten members, including one woman and four Dalit women.
Three candidates from Nepali Congress have been elected unopposed in Nepal. According to the Election Office, one Communist Party (UML) candidate and one Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) candidate were elected unopposed.
According to the District Election Office, five independent candidates, including the ward chairperson, were elected in Olangchungola. According to the office, Ganga Darnal, a female UML candidate in Phungling Municipality-5, is now unopposed.
Sita Devi Sarki and Laxmi Maya BK were unopposed for the positions of Dalit women members in Sirijangha Rural Municipality-8, Yamphudin, and Mikwakhola Rural Municipality-3, Liwang, who were nominated by the Nepali Congress.
Similarly, Manju Kami, who was nominated by the Nepali Congress to represent Lelep in Phaktanglung Rural Municipality-6, has run unopposed.
Similarly, Bipin Dulal, Information Officer at the District Election Office, stated that as a Dalit woman member, Sarita Gahate, a Maoist candidate in Mikwakhola-5, Papung, was unopposed.
