Meeting of Council of Ministers to decide on IGP of Armed Forces & Nepal Police
The meeting will appoint an Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force.
KATHMANDU: MAY. 1 – The cabinet meeting is being held today. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. today at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.
The meeting will appoint an Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force. The government is about to make a decision because the leaders of both organizations are on mandatory leave beginning today.
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has met with top alliance leaders, including Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, in preparation for the cabinet meeting. Prime Minister Deuba had summoned the leaders to his Baluwatar residence for consultations.
Senior officials, including the Inspector General of Nepal Police Shailesh Thapa Chhetri and the Inspector General of the Armed Police Force Pushpa Ram KC, are on mandatory leave beginning today.
