KATHMANDU: MAY. 1 – Today is International Labour Day, and various labor unions and workers are commemorating the victory of workers for their demand for eight hours of work and legal rights by organizing various programs.

The Nepal Trade Union Congress held a rally in Kathmandu this morning. The rally will begin in Bhrikutimandap and will culminate in an assembly at Bhaktapur Buspark via Sahid Gate, New Road Gate, and Ratna Park.

Similarly, the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions is scheduled to organise an assembly in Bhrikutimandap this afternoon.

Furthermore, the Joint Trade Union Coordination Center (JTUCC), which is a joint union of over a dozen trade unions active in Nepal, is marking this day by organising a grand rally this afternoon in the Capital City.
