New technology is being implemented in Nepal's traffic management system.
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 29 – People no longer have to wait in line for hours or wander around looking for the designated bank to pay the fine for traffic violations.
The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office has gone digital, using QR codes to collect fines from violators.
Since Thursday, the ‘QR Scan Pay Fine and Withheld Document’ facility has been in place to allow violators to pay the fine without having to go through any formalities.
SSP Umeshraj Joshi and Kumari Bank Limited’s digital chief Anil Tamrakar jointly inaugurated the service, which was launched in collaboration with the bank.
According to SSP Joshi, new technology is being implemented in Nepal’s traffic management system, which is expected to benefit road users even more.
Similarly, Bank’s digital chief Joshi promised to continue collaborating with traffic police in the coming days to provide better and faster services.
