KATHMANDU: APRIL. 28 – The ruling CPN (Unified Socialist) and the UCPN (Maoist) will unite today.
Prakash Khatiwada, secretary of the party’s propaganda department, stated that the party was attempting to unite with the UCPN (Maoist) in order to strengthen communist forces by uniting political parties, fronts, and organizations close to the party.
As the necessary homework for unity has been completed, the two parties will hold a unity meeting today at the UCPN (Maoist) central office in the presence of UCPN (Maoist) Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal and UCPN (Maoist) Secretary Alok Rayamajhi.
The Unified Socialists, who rebelled against the CPN (UML), have claimed to be the communist ideology’s mainstream.
