CPN (Maoist) Biplav leaders Khatiwada & Dangi released

BIRATNAGAR: APRIL. 27 – Kumar Khatiwada, the CPN-Biplav group’s former Morang district secretary, has been released.

On Monday, the Morang district court granted him bail. Khatiwada was arrested on September 30, 2019, was charged with organized crime explosives.

A bench of Morang District Court Judge Kishor Ghimire ordered his release on bail after a two-and-a-half-year trial. Bal Kumar Dangi, another CPN (Maoist) leader arrested in the same case as Khatiwada, has also been released.

Dangi Morang is a resident of Budhiganga-7 and Khatiwada is a permanent resident of Budhiganga-4. They were arrested by the police from Ikrahi in Morang. They were arrested on the charge of being involved in smuggling explosives found in a river near the house of Bal Kumar Dangi of Dangraha.

After the court ordered their release on bail, they said that they would continue their political journey with the Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand “Biplav’. “We are political creatures. We were arrested in the name of that party and kept in jail for two and a half years. We will not leave that party now. We will engage in political work,” Khatiwada said.
