More than 70 leaders/activists including people’s representatives enter Maoist center

SOLUKHUMBU: APRIL. 27 – The Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center), Sotang Rural Municipality Coordinating Committee has increased its election and door-to-door campaigning.

Leaders/activists from the Maoist center who have become candidates for local level elections are making their way to the people’s homes. Leader Laxman Karki stated that this process will be pursued more aggressively.

“The Maoist center has also addressed people’s problems in the past,” he said. “We’re still in the same campaign, reaching out to people and discussing solutions to their problems.” It will keep moving forward with vigour.’

Meanwhile, the leaders claim that interest in the Maoist center is increasing here. More than 70 leaders/activists left various parties and joined the Maoist center on Wednesday alone. Today, more than 20 leaders/activists led by Ganesh Babu Rai have left the Nepali Congress and joined the Maoist center. Similarly, more than 45 Maoists have left the UML and entered the center.

Khadga Jung Rai, a member of the Nepali Congress State 1 Committee and vice-president of the Cultural Department, as well as the elected people’s representative of Ward No. 1, had joined the Maoist center earlier on Tuesday.

Local leaders have welcomed them into the party.
